Robert Mugabe and Jacub Zuma riding to the rescue (or: The people of Ivory Coast are toast)
When it comes to solutions, the adjectives sane people would try to avoid like Hell are ‘final’ & ‘African’.
Which makes the following bit of news ‘interesting’ in the Chinese sense of the word:
“The African Union is setting up a panel of heads of state to find a solution to the political crisis in Ivory Coast. Announcing the panel initiative, Mauritania’s President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz told reporters that faced with an African problem, they were trying to find an African solution.”
How very promising.
Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz himself was responsible for two military coups in Mauritania…
… and right now he is consulting with some of his colleagues about the formation of the panel.
One of these is South Africa’s president Jacob Zuma: a corrupt polygamist and very grudgingly reformed AIDS denier who narrowly beat a rape wrap. Africa’s answer to Europe’s Berlusconi, if you like.
Also taking parts in these preliminary talks: Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe. Yup, the even more corrupt mass murderer who’s not satisfied with raping women. He rapes the whole country.
This truly promises to be the mother of all African solutions.
