Goodbye to all that: Eight years of George Bush cartoons (Part Two)
(Bush, against the wall of the Guardian)
I suppose that it is still possible that the Supreme Court will interfere and steal the election again for the Republicans; this time demanding as many recounts as it takes to make McCain the official winner.
Barring such a dubious act of God, we can now (almost safely) say that there really seems to be some light at this almost interminably long tunnel. I’m not saying that the world and all who live on it will now go on living happily ever after, under the saintly wings of soon-to-be president Obama.
Life doesn’t quite work that way.
Still, we’ve just celebrated Thanksgiving and we’re heading for that famous manger now, so why not celebrate the ending of the noxious Bush presidency, while we’re all in such a forgiving and benign mood? Two days ago, I started with a series of cartoons, drawn by the English Guardian’s Steve Bell; you can see those here.
Today, I will continue with more Guardian cartoons, this time by Martin Rowson. (I couldn’t find any 2001 cartoons, so I will post two from 2006.)
1) 2002
2) 2003
3) 2004
4) 2005
5) 2006
6) 2006
7) 2007
8) 2008
To be continued…
(Here’s to the beginning of a beautiful new friendship…?)
