Outreach pastor caught breaking into woman’s home and stealing sex toy & lubricant

First, there’s a new UK sex survey, which, not very surprisingly, sees a rise in popularity of phone sex but also confirms that the old stereotype that Englishmen love a good spanking still holds true:

WOMEN are more likely to indulge in phone sex and one in three admit they have tried spanking, a new survey has revealed. The UK Sex Report, 2008, also discovered a steamy 48 per cent said they’ve enjoyed phone sex - with 50 per cent of women and 44 per cent of men admitting they like talking dirty.

So far, so predictable – and I wouldn’t have mentioned this survey at all, if not for the following story:

A Haywood County pastor is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and stealing a sex toy and a bottle of personal lubricant. 48 year old Scott Murray faces felony burglary and larceny charges. He was part of the Pastoral Ministries and Outreach programs at New Covenant Church in Clyde for nearly a decade.

Don’t you just love that ‘outreach’ detail…?

I suppose everyone who was ever caught masturbating by his or her parents and subsequently threatened with the flames of Hell will have smiled like Jack Nicholson while reading the above story. Revenge is indeed a dish that tastes very well when served cold.

On a slightly less sniggering level it also serves as a moral lesson, to wit: When you are a pastor on outreach duty, it’s much wiser to call the members of your congregation on the phone than to burgle their houses.

It may lack that personal touch but phone sex is, indeed, ever so much safer than getting caught stealing and/or using their sex toys & lubricants.

Unless, like those Brits, you’re really into punishment, of course.
