John Bolton warns EU Lisbon treaty is bad for democracy: Which is like a paedophile saying that UNICEF harms children
John Bolton, former ambassador to the UN and all-time low-life bully, is at it again:
The Lisbon Treaty poses a threat to Nato and undermines democracy by handing more power to Brussels, a former senior advisor to President George W Bush has warned.
You know, with all the presidential election fun it’s tempting to forget that George Bush is still squatting in the White House and his armies and thuggish friends are still roaming the earth, doing the kind of damage that may take decennia to repair, if repair is even possible – which it ain’t for all those dead American and allied soldiers, and the literally countless civilian victims in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Still, isn’t it nice that mister John Bolton now shows such concern for the state of democracy in the European Union? Bolton for democracy? That does remind me of that old anti-Vietnam war slogan, ‘Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.’
Anyway, God knows I loathe all those petty bureaucrats in Brussels but somehow I don’t think I need John Bolton to tell me what is democratic and what is not. A man who has only shown contempt for international law, who thinks might is right, bullies his staff and sycophantically supports his über bosses in all their anti-democratic and illegal power-grubbing ploys, from phone-tapping without warrants at home to rendition flights and torture overseas.
Europe and its institutions are far from perfect but I praise the Lord we don’t have the type of Homeland Security department the USA has – or more to the point even: a PATRIOT act that mister John Bolton seems to love more than he loves the American Constitution.
In other words, whatever Europe’s problems are, we sure as Hell don’t need the advice of the likes of Bolton, whose hunger for power and horrible vanity, whose political and personal demeanour reminds me more of Hitler’s old fascists than of a spokesman for democracy.
Go home, mister John Bolton: you are a truly sickening individual. Do your speechifying and goose-stepping somewhere else.
Or maybe this is John Bolton’s way of going home. God knows he will be fired by the next president, be that John McCain or Barack Obama: Bolton is simply too vile to keep, too much of a loose cannon, too much a reminder too of the failed Bush presidency.
So, maybe this is just his last pathetic and defiant ‘Fuck you!’ to the world. Like a cowardly home invader who leaves a damping turd on the living room’s carpet before he runs off again. Which is an image that suits mister John Bolton perfectly, come to think of it.
