A youth sports coach is shot dead in the street: There was “some perception of disrespect”

You know, I’ve truly come to loathe the word ‘respect’:

PDT BERKELEY — A Berkeley man was charged Friday with murdering a youth sports coach and wounding another man near the UC Berkeley campus in a shooting that a prosecutor said stemmed from “some perception of disrespect.”

So, again, let me make this clear: No, I don’t respect anyone who carries weapons around and is ready to inflict violence on all who ‘disrespect’ them. Such persons are not worthy of anyone’s respect - in fact, they are not even worthy to breathe.

The true feeling any civilised person would have for these moral morons is not one of disrespect though but of despise.

Shooting someone who ‘disrespects’ you is the action of a psychopath - a murderous variant of a child throwing a temper tantrum. How many more senseless murders must we tolerate before we are able to teach boys to become real men and not adult-sized babies having a hissy fit whenever they think someone is looking at them in the wrong way?

However tempting it might be at times though, we are not supposed to rid the world of all rude and spoilt children, of course. So, maybe we should not treat these people as overgrown, temper throwing babies. Indeed, that might be deemed disrespectful - to those children, mostly. Perhaps we better treat these ‘respect’ pychos in the same manner and with the same respect as we treat rabid dogs.

No disrespect meant to our canine friends, of course.
