Some things are priceless? The woman who sued her husband over the loss of her virginity

I’ve said it many times before but science and its offspring technology can do the most wondrous things. Just look at cosmetic surgery. Yes, it’s mostly in the news because people are continuously told that their perfectly alright bodies won’t do at all. So, we see these ludicrous breasts, lips and other enhancements – and botox, liposuction and what have you.

But think of all the burn victims – and the real good cosmetic surgery can do in those cases, or in the aftermath of other horrific accidents and illnesses. Having said that, there are limits to what cosmetic surgery can do.

Sometimes, it seems, what people really need is a kind of cosmic surgery:

A WOMAN is suing her husband for half-a-million pounds over the loss of her virginity, a report said today. The 30-year-old teacher is claiming 3million ringgit in damages after her lover refused to through with a customary Chinese marriage, The New Straits Times reported.

The Malaysian woman’s lawyer Ernest Chua said: “What she has is a marriage on paper only. It’s not the kind we all know and the kind all women want. It’s a marriage obtained by misrepresentation.”

The in-laws began pressuring their son to divorce, according to the bride, who named in them in the suit for “inducing their son to breach the contract of marriage” and for causing her “humiliation and mental torture”.

The pair consummated their relationship after dating for a few months, then legally registered their marriage, but they never went through the customary Chinese marriage rites. The woman has also asked the court to declare the marriage null and void.
