Doomsday sect leader tries to kill himself over wrong prediction: If only Bush and Blair could be that honourable

Ah well, you can’t win ‘em all:
The leader of a Russian doomsday sect has attempted to kill himself as his followers continue to emerge from a cave where they have been waiting for the end of the world.
Pyotr Kuznetsov, 43, is in a psychiatric hospital after he was discovered hitting himself over the head with a log. Members of his religious group have been hiding in a cave since November, believing that the world would end in May.
Officials said that he may have attempted suicide after realising that his prediction had been wrong. Mr Kuznetsov has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
I do like the fact that he tried to beat his own brains out with a log because he’d made a mistake. Still, as they say, it’s not the end of the world. It’s not as if anything bad happened because of his less-than-perfect prediction. No wars were started, no country destroyed.
Weapons of mass destruction, anyone?
Maybe we should hand that log to messires Bush & Blair and hope that for once in their miserable lives they will do the honourable thing – or we could do it for them, of course.
